ABOUT US

BWK VINTAGE was founded through our shared passion for exceptional textiles, thoughtful design and slow fashion.

Although we both trained in London—Bridget at the London College of Fashion and Susan at Central Saint Martins—our careers took us independently to the United States, where we each established ourselves as fashion designers in Los Angeles and New York. Despite living and working close to one another for many years, we never met. It was only after returning to England, when we were both teaching on a university fashion programme in Cornwall, that our paths finally came together. It was there that BWK VINTAGE began.

Between us, we bring decades of experience across every aspect of the clothing industry, from design, pattern cutting and garment construction to sourcing exceptional textiles. Years of travel throughout Asia, particularly India and Hong Kong, deepened our appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the remarkable artistry of vintage textiles.

Every BWK VINTAGE garment begins with a carefully selected vintage sari. We are inspired by the beauty of these extraordinary textiles and the stories they already carry. Rather than following seasonal trends or producing collections in quantity, we allow each textile to guide the design, creating contemporary garments that honour the character of the original cloth.

The beauty of vintage textiles lies in their individuality. Variations in colour, weave and embroidery, together with the gentle signs of age acquired over time, are not imperfections but part of each textile's history and authenticity.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and cut, pieced and sewn to make the most of the sari's unique pattern, colour and craftsmanship. No two garments are ever the same—every BWK VINTAGE garment is truly one of one.

We believe in creating timeless garments that are made to be treasured and worn with ease for years.
